Windows source code leaked
I don’t even know what to say about this. Read for yourself. No matter what you think about how much MS products suck, this is not good at all. I for one plan to avoid downloading or seeing the code at all costs, and any person with a modicum of intelligence ought to think likewise. Apparently Microsoft has confirmed, although they attempted to downplay it. Brace yourselves, sysadmins…

I agree. Knowing MS, they will probably try to prosecute anyone who they even THINK saw the code.

I agree with you X, this is really dangerous, not only for sysadmins but anyone that uses a PC with windows OS. I just posted a similar thought on my site as well as a poll on it. Check it out. website is http://www.sketkar.com

Sure, people are going to get hurt in the short term, but thinking in the long term I can’t see that this will do anything but benifit Microsoft and their users long term.
You don’t have to look at the code to know it’s bad, really really bad. With some public attention hopefully they will take the time to do some house cleaning and fix things up, add that security they always talk about, and improve reliablity. Maybe the price will come down over time too? Even if just alittle.
Long term I think this is the giant slap in the face by Mother Reality that M$ needed.
… or, like their brother Intel, they can simply die.
